Development Update — A New Home for the Police Department

We have decided to replace our current Molo Mission Row Police Department with the newer Prompt MRPD.

The Molo MRPD has served as a good starting point during development, but the Prompt version fits the direction we want to take the police department much better. It provides more space, more opportunities for roleplay, and a stronger foundation for the systems we plan to build around it.

More Than Just a New Interior

This change is not simply about replacing one building with another.

The Prompt MRPD has been designed as a complete police headquarters, with dedicated areas for briefings, training, investigations, evidence handling, prisoner processing, office work, and vehicle operations.

The building includes a reworked interior and exterior, updated signage, offices, holding cells, an armory, evidence rooms, a garage, and a multi-floor elevator.

Several rooms can also be changed depending on how they are being used. This gives department leadership more flexibility when organising briefings, classroom sessions, recruit training, or tactical exercises.

Better Training Opportunities

One of the main reasons we selected this MRPD is the dedicated training wing.

Officers will have access to facilities such as a shooting range, a killhouse, and a close-quarters training area. These spaces can be used for recruit training, qualification sessions, tactical exercises, and department events.

Instead of relying entirely on improvised locations, the department will have a proper environment where officers can practise communication, teamwork, firearms handling, room clearing, and decision-making.

There is also a furnished station gym, giving officers another place to interact and spend time between calls.

More Detailed Custody Roleplay

The new station also improves the process that takes place after an arrest.

Rather than every suspect immediately being transported from the street to prison, officers will have proper areas for holding, questioning, processing, and preparing reports.

The station includes holding cells, interrogation areas, prisoner escort features, and dedicated custody spaces. This gives both officers and suspects more opportunities for meaningful roleplay during the arrest and investigation process.

The interrogation room also supports synchronised scenes, helping interviews and investigations feel more structured and immersive.

A Station That Feels Active

Throughout the building, there are many smaller interaction points connected to areas such as the armory, evidence storage, technology desks, lockers, office equipment, and station facilities.

These details help the MRPD feel like an actual workplace rather than simply a location where officers collect equipment and leave.

Even smaller additions, such as using the coffee machine or interacting with equipment around the station, help create moments of roleplay between calls and make the department feel more alive.

The station also includes ambient audio and visual details that contribute to the overall atmosphere of the building.

No Delay to Development

This change will not delay the development of CSLRP.

The police job is still on our development to-do list and has not yet been fully configured around the current Molo MRPD. That makes this the right moment to change the building.

By switching now, we can build the police job around the Prompt MRPD from the beginning. Locations for the armory, evidence storage, garages, holding cells, elevators, and other police systems can immediately be configured for the new station.

Changing the building after completing the police job would create unnecessary additional work. Making the decision now allows us to avoid having to move and rebuild those systems later.

What Happens Next?

The Prompt MRPD will first be installed and tested within our development environment.

We will be checking the layout, performance, doors, garage, elevator, custody areas, training facilities, and the different interaction points throughout the building.

Not every included feature will automatically be used. We will review each part and decide what fits the direction, balance, and realism level of CSLRP.

Once the station has been tested and configured, it will become the main headquarters of the future police department.

This change gives us a much stronger location to build upon and creates more possibilities for training, investigations, custody roleplay, department operations, and everyday interactions between officers.

More information about the police job will be shared when development on that part of the server begins.
