Heatwave Measures and Temporary Development Pause
Much of Europe is currently experiencing an ongoing heatwave, with temperatures remaining extremely high throughout the day.
Although the weather may be perfect for anyone who enjoys the sun, these conditions also create additional challenges for both our infrastructure and the people working behind the scenes at Cross State Line RP.
Additional Infrastructure Monitoring
Until the heatwave has passed, we have introduced additional monitoring across our systems.
We are keeping a closer eye on:
- Server temperatures
- System load and resource usage
- Service availability
- Unexpected performance changes
- Warning signs that could indicate overheating or instability
These additional checks allow us to respond more quickly if any system begins showing unusual behaviour.
At this time, everything is operating normally. However, we will continue monitoring the infrastructure more closely until temperatures return to safer and more manageable levels.
Protecting the hardware and preventing avoidable downtime remain our priorities.
Development Temporarily Paused
Development work has temporarily been paused because of the extreme temperatures.
Sitting behind a computer and concentrating on development for several hours is simply not practical or healthy in this heat. Unlike in some other parts of the world, air conditioning is not standard in every European home, which makes indoor temperatures difficult to manage during periods like this.
This pause does not mean development has stopped permanently or that our plans have changed. It is simply a temporary decision to protect the wellbeing of everyone involved and allow work to continue properly once conditions improve.
What Happens Next?
Current forecasts indicate that temperatures should begin dropping again after Monday.
Once conditions become more manageable, development work will gradually resume. Our existing plans for the server, documentation, systems, and future script previews remain unchanged.
Until then, our focus will remain on monitoring the infrastructure and making sure all CSLRP services continue operating safely.
